More than 800 of you weighed in on the book cover for GOODBYE, ORCHID. It was fun to unveil the winning design in creative ways, such as building anticipation with a pixelated image, taking over my Instagram page, and animating the cover:


EXPERIMENTATION
Launching a book is an act of creativity. So, I’ve experimented with marketing ideas such as:

• User switcher agents to use my desktop instead of iphone for Instagram posts
• Book Award Pro, which leverages AI to match up authors with the best-fitting among 2600+ book contests

SPEAKING
In June, talented Stacey Wilk and I had a blast talking to NJRW authors about “Speaking for Authors.” We both believe that speaking is a powerful tool for writers, and had fun putting our online skills to test via Zoom.

On August 12, I’ll be speaking at the Polka Dot Powerhouse about reinvention in a time of change. Register for the Ben Salem chapter call if you’d like to join.

In September, I’m booked to speak at Novelists, Inc. NINC is a seminal conference and I’d been looking forward to heading to St Petersburg, FL. But even if it’s from my desk in NJ, I’m always thrilled to meet and speak with authors.
